Built to the approved design
Once the BDA / ERCES design is approved, we carry the plans into the field. Our team makes sure the equipment, cable routes, antenna locations, donor path, grounding, monitoring connections and system interfaces are installed exactly as approved, following the manufacturer requirements and the applicable codes.
One experienced team carries the approved design through procurement, installation, integration, testing, documentation and ongoing service.

What the installation covers
Equipment
We procure and install the specified BDA, battery backup, annunciator, RF components, coax, antennas and pathway materials.
Cabling and antennas
Coax and indoor antennas go in along the approved routes, with connections, supports, labeling, grounding and pathways checked as we go.
Donor antenna
We install and aim the donor antenna at the approved public safety tower, and verify signal levels, antenna isolation, grounding and surge protection.
System integration
The BDA, battery backup, annunciator, fire alarm monitoring, donor antenna and DAS are connected and set up as one complete system.
Verification and testing
Before acceptance testing we check the system against the approved plans, then commission and test it for the AHJ and the radio system license holder.
Optimization
We tune the system to the approved design, the available donor signal and the authorized frequencies.

Construction coordination
A BDA installation involves the owner, the general contractor, the electrician, the fire alarm contractor, the design team, the inspectors and the fire marshal. We coordinate all of them so the system is finished with fewer delays.
Site access and readiness
Equipment rooms, risers, ceilings, rooftops and secured areas, plus working hours and safety requirements, all reviewed before we mobilize.
Pathways and cable routing
Coax routes, sleeves, conduit, penetrations, risers and mounting locations coordinated with the general and electrical contractors, so conflicts are caught early.
Electrical and fire alarm
Dedicated power, grounding, surge protection and emergency power with the electrician, and the BDA supervisory and trouble signals with the fire alarm contractor.
Schedule and inspections
Our work follows the construction milestones: pathways, permanent power, ceilings, roof access, fire alarm readiness and the target inspection or occupancy date.
Change control
If field conditions differ from the approved plans, we document them and get the change reviewed before altering the system, so the closeout records match what was built.

Next step: acceptance testing
After installation, the system is commissioned and grid tested for the fire marshal. See how it works on our BDA Testing & RF Surveys page.
